The High Desert Home is designed for Neurodivergent folks. While this unique design certainly doesn’t allude to convenience, the concept revolves around Transitionary Displacement. ‘Displacement’ being the shortest path covered by an object from initial point to the final point and ‘Transitions’ being a trigger for Object Impermanence, we can take a floor plan like this as a form of daily cognitive behavioral training. A true separation of space helps the Neurodivergent brain prioritize tasks and delegate duties/chores per room without experiencing Task Paralysis like in an open floor plan. A forced movement from place to place ensures tasks remain room-bound, clutter is centralized per room use, and executive functions can be reinforced through reduced visual stimuli.
